Hello Moto

Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone had a great long weekend! My inspiration for this outfit started with this moto jacket. A leather jacket is a staple in every closet, and I’m all about burgundy this season.image3

The jacket i’m wearing is from BCBG, and, unfortunately, is no longer available. A leather jacket is worth investing in, and if you’re in the market for one it’s your lucky day. This lambskin leather jacket from Nordstrom is currently on sale for 50% off and comes in black, tan, or burgundy. image4I paired this floral high waisted pencil skirt from H&M with an edgy leather jacket because I like the contrast of masculine and feminine pieces. My skirt is from a few seasons ago, but I found a similar style by Elizabeth and James or a more budget friendly style here.image5Don’t be afraid to emphasize your curves and show off your shape with a high waisted pencil skirt. We are currently in a “curvy is sexy” trend (a la Kardashian) so embrace it. I like to balance out a fitted skirt with something a bit loose on top so that the overall look is more proportionate.  image6I love pairing a simple t-shirt with something more dressy like a pencil skirt because it really gives off a dressy casual vibe. My favorite t-shirts are the vintage cotton v-neck t-shirts from J. Crew. They are soft and come in a variety of colors and sizes (including regular and petites). image7If you’ve been following my blog, then you are probably tired of seeing these shoes on repeat. I apologize, but I. LOVE. THEM. I feel like they are simple yet sexy and perfectly compliment every outfit. Mine were a splurge from Stuart Weitzman, but they were a good investment because I wear them a ton. If you’re looking for a dupe at a lower price point check out the “Stecy” by Steve Madden.  image8Feeling confident is great, but we know it doesn’t always come easily. I recently read an article about confidence by Mindy Kaling on Glamour.com. Mindy shares an excerpt of her book “Why Not Me?”and gives her “Guide to Killer Confidence.” She has some thoughtful insight on what confidence means and how to achieve it. I haven’t read the entire book yet, but found this article inspiring and have definitely put it on my must-read list. Hope you enjoy it too!
