Today’s look is all about the denim jacket. It is a key item that should be in every closet. Sequins and embellishments are on trend right now, but it may seem like you can only wear them for evening or special occasions. I want to show you how to dress down your sequins for everyday.
My denim jacket is from Gap. It is a few years old but they bring this style back pretty often. I was drawn to this particular one because the style is a little more edgy than a traditional denim jacket. Gap makes great denim, and they have a classic denim jacket available online. Kut from the Kloth available at Nordstrom also makes a great denim jacket. It has a little stretch in it so it’s super comfortable.
My sequin top is from J. Crew a few seasons ago. Surprisingly, the neon trend has stuck around, and I’m still getting to sport this cute top. What’s great about this shirt is that it’s actually a t-shirt, but the sequins make it more interesting. Express has some really great graphic tees with sequins and embellishments. I am definitely feeling the high waist midi skirt right now. I think they are fun and girly and look great with crop tops or fitted tees. Make sure if you’re wearing a tee or a blouse to tuck it in. The beauty of this silhouette is how great it makes your waistline look so don’t cover it up! The one i’m wearing is from Express. Alice from Lonestar Looking Glass just posted some great midi skirt options so you should definitely check those out as well. My shoes are Proenza Schouler from The Outnet. If you aren’t familiar with The Outnet you need to be. It is an online store by the creators of Net-a-Porter that offers serious discounts on amazing designer duds. I’ve linked the exact sandals I’m wearing, but sizes are limited. Steve Madden also makes a great neon sandal called “The Stecy”, and it’s available at Nordstrom. Denim and sequins may sound like an odd combination but once you see them together it makes more sense. Transition your evening wear to day wear with these helpful hints, and you can really maximize your wardrobe. We all want new clothes but wearing them in new ways is pretty much the same thing right?
