Shades of Blue

With all of the rain in Houston lately, I think it’s safe to say most of us have been suffering from the Springtime blues. With today’s post, however, I want to highlight the brighter side of blue. IMG_0280I got really lucky last Summer and found this jacket at H&M for $10.00! It was a super steal. I was instantly drawn to the Ikat pattern (very on trend) and all of the gorgeous colors. Similar styles available at Zara now.

IMG_0267I’m excited to share with you a local (Houston, TX) jewelry line called Goldenstrand Jewelry by Alex Golden. I discovered it at a trunk show at French Cuff Boutique, but she also has an Etsy shop. “Each piece is a unique, one of a kind design that is handmade with carefully chosen gemstones, beads and original findings.” The necklace I’m wearing is made of Pink Opal and Turquoise, and I layered it with a gold necklace from Stella and Dot (similar style). Check her out on Etsy to see her amazing designs.

My navy trousers are from Zara. I bought these pants in 3 different colors (navy, black, and forest green) because I love the fit, they’re reasonably priced, and they are a great pant to dress up or dress down.

IMG_0271I found this ivory blouse at Ann Taylor Loft recently and knew it would be the perfect layering piece. It’s a great basic, they have it in a variety of colors, and it’s currently on sale for 40% off!

IMG_0274These are my FAVORITE Summer shoes. Another lucky purchase, and this time it was Coach shoes from Marshall’s. I live for a good bargain! A nude wedge is definitely a great piece to invest in because they go with everything. A similar style can be found on Zappo’s.

The clutch I’m carrying is an oldie but goodie from Aldo (credit to my BFF Rachel Brown because I’m pretty sure it started out as hers). Good news for those of you that may need to add a nude clutch to your collection. I found a similar style at DSW for only $34.95!
